Commitment to Child Safety
At Adventure Alternatives, we believe that every student has the right to feel safe, respected, and supported while connecting with nature and pushing their boundaries. We are fully committed to ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and empowerment of all children and young people across our centre-based programs and expeditions.
We have zero tolerance for child abuse. We proactively identify and manage risks in both physical outdoor environments and our digital spaces to prevent harm before it occurs.
In strict alignment with the Queensland Child Safe Standards, we commit to:
- Cultural Safety: Upholding a universal principle of cultural safety where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children feel secure, valued, and connected to their community.
- Inclusion & Support: Welcoming children of all backgrounds, genders, abilities, and diverse needs, providing an inclusive environment where every participant can grow.
- Listening to Young People: Actively encouraging students to voice their thoughts, ensuring they know who to talk to if they feel worried or unsafe.
- Rigorous Screening: Equipping our team with child protection training and strictly enforcing mandatory Queensland Blue Card and screening protocols.
We take all safety concerns and allegations with the utmost seriousness, handling them in accordance with our legal obligations and Queensland’s reportable conduct guidelines.
If you have any questions or wish to report a concern, please contact our Child Safety Lead immediately at James@adventurealternatives.com.au or call 07 2140 9900
